Hcg (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone that is naturally found in both females and males. It is the hormone produced by the female body during pregnancy that enables the uterus to sustain a growing foetus. Hcg is also used to treat low testosterone levels in males, and infertility in both males and females.
In the 1950’s, an endocrinologist named Dr Simeons, treated teenage boys with the hcg hormone to increase their testosterone levels. He discovered that the boys were rapidly losing weight on his treatment program, especially abnormal fat around the abdomen. This led to further studies into the weight loss properties of using hcg in conjunction with a calorie restricted eating plan, and eventually led to the ‘hcg protocol’ as it has become known.
The hcg protocol (hcg product + prescribed eating plan) triggers the hypothalamus in your brain to use stored fat for energy. The hypothalamus is the control centre in your brain that helps stimulate or inhibit many of the body’s key processes, such as regulating blood pressure, body temperature, and appetite. The contents of the fat cells are liquefied and removed via the body’s own elimination processes, such as urinating and sweating.
Clients who are on the hcg protocol are functioning via the calories from their stored fat cells. This is the reason that patients can go on a low-calorie food eating plan and lose weight and avoid unwanted side effects such as muscle loss, sagging skin, and hunger.
If followed correctly, the hcg protocol ensures weight loss and an overall improvement in your general health as a by-product of losing weight. The eating program focuses on making better food choices and using healthier meal preparation methods to sustain your weight loss after completing the program.
